First Snowfall in Zakopane

by gaz

It may only be the 8th September and it may well still be 3 months from the ski season officially opening in Zakopane, HOWEVER, we’ve seen the first snow fall on top of the Tatra mountains yesterday, which is exciting! The local paper, Tygodnik Podhalanski, posted these photos taken by Pawel Pelka, the view from the top of Kasprowy Wierch and we think you’ll agree it looks stunning up there A light dusting of fresh snow, which we know will melt away again before winter comes but it makes the mountains look beautiful and sends tingles down our spines at the thought of skiing up there in the not so distant future. Enjoy the photos and we’ll keep you posted as winter skiing and holidays draw closer.

26.10.15 – There has been a little more snow falling on the mountain peaks in Zakopane, a flurry of snow last week saw the locals back on their ski touring skis last week up high in the Tatra Mountains, check out the photo on our home page today, the views are beautiful and those mountain tops are well covered!
