- WHERE IS ZAKOPANE?
Zakopane is located in the South of Poland, a 108km drive from Krakow international airport. It is based at the foot of the Tatra mountain range that divides Poland and Slovakia and sits at around 900m above sea level. Click here for more about Zakopane.
- HOW DO I GET TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT?
All of our ski holiday packages in Poland include return airport transfers. You will be collected from and returned to Krakow international airport. Click here for Getting to Zakopane.
- HOW LONG DOES THE AIRPORT TRANSFER TAKE?
On average it takes 2 hours to get to and from Krakow airport. This can obviously take longer during busier periods. Our return transfer times will take this into account. Click here for Getting to Zakopane.

- WHAT IS THE CURRENCY IN POLAND?
The currency in Poland is currently the Polish Zloty. This is where you will benefit from a ski or snowboard holiday in Poland as they have not yet joined the Euro and prices are very reasonable. Click here for current exchange rates.
- WHAT DO THINGS COST?
You can expect to pay around 8 Zloty for a pint of beer (£1.50), and 30 Zloty for a large 2 course meal (£6). Click here for current exchange rates.

- WHAT CAN I DO IF I DO NOT WANT TO SKI OR SNOWBOARD?
If your legs need a rest, or if you just wish to visit Zakopane in the winter, you will not be bored. Zakopane is a big town offering a variety of alternative options. You may wish to relax and take a spa, go shopping, or take a trip up to the top of the Tatra Mountains via the modern cable car and take in the staggering views of Zakopane. - WHEN DOES THE WINTER SKI SEASON START AND FINISH?

- CAN YOU GO NIGHT SKIING IN ZAKOPANE?

- CAN I USE CASH POINTS IN ZAKOPANE?
There are plenty of cash machines in Zakopane. It is a good idea to inform your bank, prior to your holiday, that you will be using your card abroad. Most restaurants and retail outlets do accept bank cards. There are also several Currency Exchanges in Zakopane.
- IS ZAKOPANE SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?
Zakopane is the best place a beginner skier or snowboarder could possibly go to learn! There are modern facilities available at unbeatable prices, a brilliant town to keep you entertained if your legs get tired and a great team of people waiting to ease you into learning to ski or snowboard. - WILL MY PHONE WORK IN POLAND?
Yes, all UK mobiles will work in Poland and you can get a signal on the ski hills to call your friends and tell them how great it is! Most ski areas also offer free WiFi.
- CAN I BUY CHEAP SKI AND SNOWBOARD GEAR IN ZAKOPANE?
As in any other ski resorts cheaper alternatives are available alongside the more recognised brands. However, it is always advisable to stick to the better known brands.
- WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?
It is a good idea to bring your own ski clothing with you. However, if you do not want to pay a fortune for clothing then you can hire clothing from us or some good shops in the UK to look out for are: TK Maxx, Aldi, Lidl and Sports Direct. These places usually have some great value gear for sale during the winter. You will need to bring: a waterproof ski jacket, waterproof ski pants, a warm hat, waterproof gloves, ski socks and ski goggles/sunglasses.
- CAN I RENT A CAR IN ZAKOPANE?
Should you wish to visit Zakopane and drive yourself around in Poland, perhaps whilst taking one of our Bronze Holiday Packages, then you can rent a car in Zakopane.
