Bridge Holiday in Zakopane & Krakow, Poland

by gaz

Here at White Side Holidays Poland we have just run a different kind of holiday in Zakopane, organised jointly between ourselves and Mercian Travel UK, we had a group of Bridge (the card game, contract bridge) players with us for 11 nights, split between Zakopane and Krakow. A slightly different crowd to our usual ski and snowboard holiday guests in Poland but it was great to be back in Zakopane and the weather was fantastic for most of the trip.

Whilst in Zakopane the group enjoyed walking tours up the beautiful Strazyska valley, on top of Gubalowka mountain, around the centre of Zakopane and of course on top of Kasprowy Wierch as well as a lovely lunch at Javorina, one of Zakopane’s finest Goral restaurants. The group spent their evenings playing Bridge back at the hotel Wersal in Zakopane where they had a lovely view from the conference room of the Tatra Mountains.

After a week in Zakopane we headed to Krakow and spent the remaining three nights at the hotel Galaxy on the edge of the Vistula river, just a 20 minute stroll in to the historical centre of Krakow. The group took a melex tour around Krakow and day trips to the Wieliczka Salt Mines and to Auschwitz.

This was a first for us, but after a lovely group holiday, which was enjoyed by both couples and single travellers we are already planning to run another trip next June. Please get in touch with us here are White Side Holidays Poland or you can contact Mercian Travel directly for details on Zakopane or some of their other destinations for bridge holidays.

Thank you to everyone in the group who made the first Bridge Holiday in Poland a fun one!
